StreamersNews ("we", "us") runs streamersnews.com, a community site for streaming news and live streamer rankings. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in we receive your email address, and if you use Twitch sign-in, the basic profile details Twitch shares with us (such as your display name). We generate a username for you.
- Content you create. Stories, comments, votes and reports you submit, and the points you earn.
- Technical data. Standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, used to keep the site secure and working.
- Cookies. We use cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies at this time. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Public streamer data
Our live rankings and streamer pages show public information from streaming platforms, such as channel names, stream titles and viewer counts, fetched through the platforms' official APIs. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch or any other streaming platform.
How we use information
- To run the site, sign you in, and show your content.
- To send sign-in emails and essential service messages.
- To prevent spam and abuse, and to moderate content.
- To understand and improve how the site is used.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to operate the site. They process data on our behalf:
- Supabase, for our database and sign-in.
- Vercel, for hosting.
- Resend, for sending sign-in emails.
- Twitch, if you choose to sign in with Twitch.
Your username, stories and comments are public. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the site.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content until you ask us to delete them. Moderation records may be kept longer to prevent repeat abuse.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@streamersnews.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or similar data protection laws, and we will respond to valid requests.
Children
The site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no online service can be completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above when we do.
